A Home Cleaning Schedule That Works For Your Family

In our recent Blenheim Homes blog post, we discussed tips for maintaining a clean home with a realistic cleaning schedule that helps keep the mess and clutter that every home experiences from building up! So we created a sample cleaning schedule for a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom single-family home that might help or inspire you to get started.

Feel free to adjust the frequency and tasks based on your specific needs and preferences:

Daily Tasks:

  1. Make beds in all bedrooms.
  2. Wipe down kitchen countertops and surfaces.
  3. Wash dishes and load/unload dishwasher.
  4. Sweep kitchen floor.
  5. Wipe down bathroom counters and sinks.
  6. Wipe down toilet seats and surfaces in bathrooms.
  7. Tidy up living areas and common spaces.

Weekly Tasks:

Monday:

  1. Vacuum all carpets and rugs throughout the house.
  2. Mop hard floors in kitchen, bathrooms, and entryways.
  3. Dust furniture, shelves, and other surfaces in living areas.
  4. Clean mirrors and glass surfaces.

Tuesday:

Wednesday:

Thursday:

Friday:

  1. Clean exterior of kitchen cabinets and pantry shelves.
  2. Dust and clean light switches and doorknobs.

  4. Vacuum and spot clean any carpet stains.

Monthly Tasks:

  1. Deep clean kitchen appliances, including oven and refrigerator interior.
  2. Clean light fixtures and ceiling fans in all rooms.
  3. Dust and wipe down all air vents and registers.
  4. Clean windows and window sills throughout the house.
  5. Clean and organize closets and storage spaces.

Seasonal Tasks:

  1. Clean gutters and downspouts.
  2. Pressure wash exterior siding, deck, and patio.
  3. Clean and store seasonal outdoor furniture and equipment.
  4. Inspect and replace HVAC filters as needed.
  5. Declutter and organize garage or storage shed.
